Do you appreciate the beauty and splendor of glass home dιcor? Then you must know a little bit about the history of glass making. The naturally occurring glass, especially the volcanic glass obsidian has been used by many Stone Age societies for the production of sharp cutting tools and was heavily traded. However, in general, archaeological evidence suggests that the first true glass was made in coastal Syria, Mesopotamia or Ancient Egypt in the form of glass beads. These glass beads were perhaps used as ornamental home dιcor. It was however during the Hellenistic period that glass was used for the manufacture of tableware. During the 1st century BCE, glass blowing was discovered on the Syro-Palestinian coast revolutionizing the industry and glass vessels including the glass bowl became inexpensive compared to pottery.
