In medieval times to early renaissance era, the close armor helmet was worn by knights and other fighters. It had a visor that pivoted upwards and the armor helmet fully enclosed the head and the neck areas. It is most likely that this close armor helmet was a variant of different armor helmets such as the armet, the Italian bellows-visored sallets and possibly, the hinged great bascinets. This close armor helmet more than likely came out in the 15th century but could be even earlier. The close armor helmet will make fantastic costume for any Halloween costume party or re-enactment with its shiny and sophisticated look. However, in live action role playing where fast action in a battlefield is required, this costume could prove to be cumbersome. Unless you will be playing a less active role, it is better to opt for the least obstructive armor helmet. Important Features:
