The most recognized style of armor worn by the Roman Army would probably be the full suit plate armor. These full suit plate armors were worn by the Roman Army Knights of the Middle Ages. The height of its popularity was the 14th century and continued on to the 17th century. By about the 14th century, the full suit had been developed in Lombardy and heavy cavalry dominated the battle field for centuries in part because of the armor. In the early 15th century, the small _hand cannon_ was first used in the Hussite Wars and newer tactics that allowed the infantry to defeat armored knights on the battlefield. At about the same instance, crossbows were designed to finally penetrate armor. However, instead of becoming obsolete due to the advent of small firearms, the further use and development of the armor intensified. Full suits of armor were actually worn by generals and princely commanders right up to the second decade of the 18th century. When you wear this costume to a play or costume party, try and do some work out prior to going to become a bit more intimidating. Important Features:
