The specialized full suit jousting plate armor produced in the late 15th century was very heavy and could have weighed about 50 kg (100 pounds) and it was not intended for free combat. The full suit jousting plate armor was designed considering what the warhorse could carry for that period and not anything else. The medieval joust originated in the military tactics of heavy cavalry during the High Middle Ages. It became obsolete during the 14th century and since the 15th century, jousting has become a sport without direct relevance to warfare. During this period, the sport developed two distinct styles of the joust known as Rennen and Stechen. The Stechen in particular developed into extremely heavy armor which completely inhibited the movement of the rider. In its latest forms, it resembled an armor shaped cabin that was integrated into the horse armor. Fortunately you do not have to deal with the weight on this costume as it is designed for ease of use when playing a key role in plays or reenactments. Important Features:
