The Churburg castle was built around 1953 by the Prince Bishop of Chur, Heinrich of Monfort. As early as 1297, the Churburg castle was transferred to the possession of Mr. Von Matsch who was in constant battle with the Bishop. In 1504, after the death of his last remaining heir, the castle was transferred to the hands of Count Trapp. In 1537, after hereditary disputes, the possession finally went to the Trapp Family through the Polheim contract. Thanks to the roads traveled by the Roman army, Chur flourished and acquired greater importance in the Ottonian dynasty of the Holy Roman Empire. Today, the Churburg castle in Italy is famous for one of the largest collection of Roman Army era full suit plate armor. Some of the full suit plate armor dates back to the time of Otto I. This full suit plate armor costume will certainly make anyone from South Tyrol, Italy be impressed in any costume party or medieval reenactment. Remember the musical _Sound Of Music_?
